18K Pink Tourmaline solitaire ring in a mesmerizing shade of pink set into an open back 18k gold band. This surprisingly modern appearing ring is Victorian, evidenced by the hand work and pink tourmaline; pink and green tourmaline were popular in the 19th century for its considerable beauty and high polish. The gold band flattens out on both sides where it joins the ring head (see last photos). Horizontal piercings along the band are another interesting detail. The detail of the crimped pie crust edges around the gold border are the touche finale of the masterful gold-work of this ring.
This ring is open backed and with its pierced openings in the band should not be affected by moisture.
The ring is tall almost like a hat and sits approximately 4 mm above the finger (see in photos).
The ring is a size 6 1/4.
