This spectacular renaissance revival ring sports a gorgeous peridot mounted atop an 18K gold ring with its characteristic polychrome enameling and projecting shoulders. Jewelry of the Italian Renaissance acquired great popularity amongst European taste makers in the second half of the 1800's, a time of great economic expansion and a golden age for jewelers. The cushion cut peridot has great color and is clear and luminous. Peridot is a semiprecious gemstone that was especially popular in the Victorian period. The enameling shows no evidence of restoration and only minor losses to the enamel. We recommend this ring be worn for special occasions and not for everyday activity. The bezel is 9 by 8 mm. The ring is a US size 5 3/4.
