Wonderful 18K early Victorian enamel, pearl cluster and gold memorial ring set with 6 pearls and a diamond in the center. Such rings were symbolic of the romantic revivalism that swept through the country during the early years of Queen Victoria's reign. The ring is inscribed "Mary Wilkinson died 1st of June 1842" and is hallmarked Birmingham to the year 1841. A small round compartment fitted with a lock of beautifully woven hair can be seen on the underside of the forget-me-not. The ring is US size 7.
