We love this 1960's sinuous cocktail ring. With its 2 hessonite, 2 red garnets 2 blue topaz stones and 10 diamond accents (a ribbon of 5 diamonds on each side) this ring mesmerizes with its contrasting colors and textures. The ring has curvaceous elements like stones cut en cabochon and shaped like 3 leaf clovers blended together but with all the angularity removed. Each of the stones is surrounded by a finely worked gold border. The ring has a sensory feel on the finger, the mark of a skilled artisan. Even the underside of the ring mesmerizes with the transparent colored stones. The band is polished and the ribbon of small diamond accent stones provide a textural contrast to the smooth stones. The ring can be worn everyday as it is substantial and the stones are securely set into the gold. The old mine cut diamonds are also set into the metal and reinforced by small gold beads that help keep the diamonds within (see photos), again all evidence of the hand- work of a skilled goldsmith. Size 8.5 6.11 grams stamped 14K indicating European origin
