This is a big, bold signet ring with a Carnelian base and a band of 18K, the phrase "Semper Paratus" inscribed in the banner above an image of a horned animal. Semper Paratus is a Latin phrase meaning "Always Ready". It is used as the official motto of the United States Coast Guard as well as the official motto of the Fire and Rescue in Australia, as well as the Infantry regiment in Canada. The image of the horned animal symbolizes power and strength, and horned gods in Greek mythology represented warriors and lords of the animal kingdom. A rather masculine signet that can have symbolic meaning for men or women and certainly for members of the military . The ring is a size 9 1/4.
