This sturdy and bold 18K Victorian buckle ring, hallmarked Sheffield, for the year 1895 with one round 20 point cushion cut diamond star set securely into the band.. The clean and simple design of the ring makes is wearable for women or men. Buckle rings were popular in the Victorian era. As it was the Queen's order, Victoria wore the symbol of the garter in the form of a buckle bracelet or buckle ring on her arm, as she obviously could not show the garter on her leg. The garter symbolizes fidelity and eternal love. The ring is almost 1/2 of an inch in width and is a size 8 ½. The ring weighs 12.35 grams.
