Wonderful pair of long pair of Victorian onyx earrings with French jet flowers at the top. French jet is a type of polished black glass that was popular during the Victorian era as a form of mourning jewelry. Onyx was also a favored mourning gemstone during the Victorian era and is seen time and time again as a fashionable jewel fashion throughout the 19th century. These earrings have 15k detailing at the top and 15k ear wires. The top of the earrings can be separated from the bottom to create day/night earrings. The earrings are approximately 3 inches in length.
